Urban Meyer Re-Retires

Urban Meyer is stepping down as Florida coach. The school announced a press conference will be held at 6 p.m. ET to discuss the decision. Meyer and athletic director Jeremy Foley will be at the press conference.

"I have been a Division I football coach for the last 25 years and, during that time, my primary focus has been helping my teams win titles," Meyer said. "I have thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it, and I am a fierce competitor to my core. At this time in my life, however, I appreciate the sacrifices my 24/7 profession has demanded of me, and I know it is time to put my focus on my family and life away from the field. The decision to step down was a difficult one."

Meyer, who has won two national championships and has a 64-15 record in six seasons with the Gators, announced last December that he would resign as coach due to health concerns.
After 24 hours, he changed his mind and instead took a leave of absence after coaching in the Sugar Bowl.

Possible replacements that will get early mention could include Mississippi State coach Dan Mullen, the offensive coordinator for Florida's national titles under Meyer before leaving this past year and former Gators defensive coordinator Charlie Strong.

PS...Urban Meyer's daughter Nicki, a volleyball player @ Georgia Tech is smoking HOT!
